Problem: The clients had an outdated kitchen (floor plan and cabinetry) with a laundry room that acted as the main access from the rear auto court and was visually connected to the kitchen. Although attached by a doorway, the breakfast room felt isolated from the kitchen. They also wanted to better utilize the built-in cabinet space at the breakfast room. The clients wanted to renovate with minimal disturbance to the existing traditional style of the home. Solution: Enlarge the kitchen to include a new working island, add new locker area, pantry and new back entry, create a place for a home office, relocate the laundry with usable space, open the new kitchen to the existing breakfast room, and modify cabinets in breakfast room to display glass art.
