The client loved the arched doorways of the home so emphasis was placed on that feature by putting the kitchen on axis with the dining room and living room doorways creating an enfilade of spaces. We had to create an open plan feel by placing large floor to ceiling kitchen windows on axis with the living room, and finally a great view of the back yard.We kept original kitchen cabinetry for a new Butlers pantry with wine bar, which also provides great storage too. Casement windows over the new kitchen sink allow for easier functioning. An extra exterior door from the laundry helps that space double as a mudroom and dog house, while staying separate from the rear entrance to the kitchen. No dead ends in this house by utilizing a full circle circulation plan. Every design maneuver was employed to support this openness and delight.
