Removed obstructive load bearing wall adjoining den which created additional square footage and opened natural traffic flow. Replaced existing window with new larger window with arched detail providing additional natural light and interest. Under cabinet lighting, recessed cans and chandeliers flushed room with inviting light. New hardwood floors were installed and stained to match existing to create a flawless transition from new to existing. New white custom cabinets were built to increase the functionality, while occupying the existing floor space. A second sink was added in the bowed island to create separate preparation and cleaning zones, cleverly hidden from the living area by the 42” raised bar. This new design also allows for 2-3 people to be working in the kitchen together performing different tasks without getting each other’s way. Top of the line appliances were installed throughout the kitchen from the Wolf Range to the Dacor hood and warming drawer to give this cook the tools needed to perform at her best. An elevator shaft was constructed in the new pantry to allow for the future installation of a residential elevator should the needs of the client change. -Photos courtesy of Neffworks Photography
