Beautiful Tudor detailing was given to the paneling and bookshelves that were added to the walls. Much attention was given to ensure a gorgeous coloration in the pine, giving the room an old-world gentleman’s library atmosphere. The décor of the room centered on the clients’ leather sofa and was used to enhance the library. Blue linen-damask drapery compliments the gold-hued paneling and enlivens the old Oriental rug. A custom designed desk and credenza makes this a functional as well as beautiful room. Existing doors were grained in faux-bios to blend with the new paneling. The original closet was converted with custom cabinetry to house filing and storage for the home office. A concealed, paneled door “hides” the closet into the paneling. The original guest suite included a bath which serves as the powder room for the main level of the house. Special attention was given to the new vanity and wallpaper to blend into the homes existing old world feeling. Rich wall covering, drapery and an antique rug continue the library’s masculine feel. -Photos courtesy of Neffworks Photography
