Updating this small kitchen began with the addition of twenty eight new square feet off the back of the room. This new space made it possible to fit an island into the center of the kitchen. Custom matching windows and Dutch door were installed at the new exterior wall which allowed for plenty of natural light and views of the backyard. To accommodate the continued slope of the roof above the addition an ogee T&G ceiling was installed. A new larger window was installed at the other exterior wall which along with a new opening from the dining room made for a kitchen that open to the rest of the house. Custom site painted maple cabinets with soap stone countertops were the base for the rest of the finer details in this kitchen. The most noticeable of the details is a large copper hood and copper can light inserts which were custom built along with the cabinet hardware. Viking appliances are hidden with cabinet panels. -Photos courtesy of Neffworks Photography
