The solution to updating this kitchen started with the removal of everything in it. The only thing to remain was the panels at the walls and ceiling which were removed, reinstalled and refinished. Single pieces of wide plank antique heart pine flooring were installed from wall to wall leaving the floor free of any breaks in the hardwood. Custom site painted maple cabinets were installed with beaded inset recessed panels. Radius corner cabinets were covered with a custom painted canvas that blended with the colors of the honed white cararra marble countertops and backsplash. Custom fabricated cabinet hardware was designed to match the gold trim on the new Lacanche range. Viking appliances were installed and covered with panels with exception to the microwave which now sits in the island. The island countertop was built using reclaimed material of the homeowners. A new prep sink was added along with a farm sink by the rear window that finished off the country look of this kitchen.
