This project consisted of converting the existing master bedroom to a family room and using the large existing master bath area as a small downstairs guest bedroom. The new master bedroom was relocated upstairs in one of the other bedrooms. While some of the bedrooms were larger, the one selected had the most commanding position and a view of the back garden. To make this room work, square footage was added on the rear of the house to enlarge the room and add a master bath. It was decided to push the room back a few feet and add a bay window, oriel style, in so doing enlarging the small breakfast area below. The bath space was created by adding a grilling porch off the back of the garage at the kitchen door with a long shed dormer style space above to accommodate the new master bath. Every detail of the pool house was meant to mimic the larger main house down to the brick, cedar shake roof, windows, and proportional cupola. The exterior of the pool house was completed with an outdoor shower and a wetbar that is accessible from a covered patio area. The interior of the pool house consists of a dressing room with practical storage areas and a bathroom.
