The two-story wall of the rear of this house made the existing Upper and Lower patios feel out of scale. There were two main patio level heights to work with and no designated grilling area. The Lower Patio is now enclosed with graceful arches that produce a colonnade that scales down the vastness of the exterior rear two-story wall. The top of the new Covered Patio creates a new Second Floor Patio that is open to the Master Suite with new arched French doors that mimic the arches below. Traditional wrought iron railing maintains an open feel above and the painted brick continues the look and feel of the existing home. Coffered ceilings below create a dramatic effect for the outdoor living space and enhance the new outdoor kitchen and grilling area. The brick on the lower patio was replaced with field stone to compliment the stone surround of the outdoor kitchen area and bar.
