The end result of this project was a more functional and spacious Master Bath that capitalized on the already existing breathtaking backyard views. Originally using a small and oddly arranged bathroom with a non-functioning shower, Andrew Roby’s team built a new Master Bath over the existing Breakfast Room complete with five windows placed at each lavatory. Since the laundry room was located two floors down from the Master Bedroom, the old Master Bath was transformed into a closet with a more accessible washer and dryer. To create a more spacious feeling in the Master Bedroom, the ceiling was vaulted into the existing attic and extra closet space was converted into a built-in TV cabinet. In order to renovate the rear façade to create a more cohesive, simplified design that better joined the backyard terraces, windows and doors in the existing Breakfast Room were redesigned and new garage doors were added. To expand the living space, a dual functioning carport that could be utilized for parking and/or a party pavilion was constructed and the existing multiple staircases was redesigned into a broad, single connecting one. Also, a see-through fireplace and outdoor grilling counter were added for added comfort and enjoyment.
