ReStore ReStyle

Roby team members contribute to NASCAR wives' fundraising effort

Jun 07, 2011

This Tuesday, June 7 at 6:30, at the Mooresville Restore, the Women of NASCAR and Lake Norman Homebuilder's Association are hosting their reveal event to showcase different designers’ work and to award the designers with the best room design. The public is also invited to come out and enjoy desserts and music.

Andrew Roby executives played a key contribution to the ReStore ReStyle event. Led by Ben Mandon, a project manager for Andrew Roby and Chairman of the Lake Norman Homebuilders Remodeler’s Council, Roby team members, Lake Norman Home Builders Association and other members of the community gathered on a Saturday morning to construct temporary walls for a seven room frame. Andrew Roby team members created the work space for the designers to work within.

The design event following the wall construction is part of a fundraising effort conducted by a group of NASCAR wives. Together, the wives have partnered with Habitat for Humanity in an effort to building a Habitat house. So far, the NASCAR wives have collected approximately $30,000, which puts them close to the halfway mark to reach their fundraising goal of $65,000. The NASCAR wives must meet their fundraising goal before they begin their rebuilding project.

Along with raising money for the NASCAR wives’ Habitat project, the ReStore event will also raise awareness of ReStores in surrounding areas. ReStores accept donations of furniture and other household appliances, and resell them for a small fraction of the original cost.

This is a great event for community members to gather and have fun, all for a good cause. Judging won’t be the only thing going on at the event . People are welcome to come out and celebrate with good dessert and music. In fact, event attendees will be able select their favorite room for the People’s Choice Award.

We’re proud of our Andrew Roby team members who have contributed to such a worthy cause. They played a key part in the ReStore ReStyle event. We would also like to thank Hoke Lumber, Lowes of Pineville and Builders Supply Co for donating all materials.
